Snow hits our office in Wanstead

Morning all,

Yep the snow has now hit us in London and it looks a very Christmassy seen from our office window today:

We all feel a bit sorry (not really) for Natalie who returns from Kenya this evening. She has been on safari for the last 5 days in sunny Kenya and she's going to be in for a very cold shock!

Did you see our latest sunny offers this week, check them out, they may warm you up a bit:

Keep warm everyone!

Breakfast with a difference in Kenya

On my recent trip to Kenya I was fortunate enough to have a Bush Breakfast:

A cup of coffee and a couple of biccies (or biteings are the call them locally) at the lodge and it was off for an early morning game drive in the Masai Mara. Didn’t get time to get hungry during the game drive due to the adrenalin rushing after seeing some simply amazing game.
However when we pulled up to a section of bush in the middle of the Mara I was starving. Having pre-booked a Bush breakfast I was a bit unsure what to expect. I thought we would turn up to a purpose built area and have a few croissants and coffee whilst sitting on camping stools. Boy was I wrong, we were led through the bush to be met with a glass of sparking wine and a view of a full breakfast buffet, complete with juices, stainless steels serving trays, chef and cooking station, all in the middle of nowhere.

After finishing a great glass of sparkly we were taken to our table, on the banks of the river complete with the sound of hippos grunting in the background, a simply amazing setting for breakfast. The table was fully laid with cups, silver cutlery, condiments etc and very comfortable direct style chairs. We were then told to help ourselves to the buffet, now I was starving!

The variety at the buffet was fantastic I had options of bacon, sausages, mushrooms, baked beans, tomatoes, yoghurts, various breads, choice of fresh juices and various pastries. There was also a chef cooking your eggs how you would like and tea and freshly brewed coffee.
We enjoyed the next hour or so with a great breakfast, sitting in the morning sun, with the hippos chatting in the background, birds in the trees and friendly helpful staff looking after us.

What a great way to start the morning, quick use of the loo’s (which were in tents, all very clean) before heading off for another game drive!
